The College of Fine Arts Library acknowledges art historian SANTIAGO ALBANO PILAR, for his continuous support to the College of Fine Arts Library being a notable donor since 1991.

Prof. Pilar is a Professor VI of the UP College of Fine Arts and Chairman of the CFA College Library Committee. He teaches advanced courses in art history and connoisseurship in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Prof. Pilar is the author of the books Juan Luna: the Filipino as painter, Pamana: the Jorge Vargas art collection, Domingo Celis: inspired calm, Harvest of Saints and co-author of Fabian de la Rosa and his times, and written numerous articles on Philippine art history. For his pioneering research on Philippine colonial art history, he was honored with the Ten Outstanding Young Men Award for Art History in 1980, and Araw ng Maynila Award: Tagapag-alaga ng Sining in 1996. He is a consultant of exhibition projects at the Ayala Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Manila and Cultural Center of the Philippines. –MMOmega
