The UP Diliman Office of the Chancellor and the Ad-Hoc Committee of REPS cordially invite you to the 1st REPS Research Colloquium to be held at the UP NISMED Auditorium, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City on 22 February 2008, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Download the Programme HERE.

The Colloquium intends to:

  1. Provide a venue for the Research, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS) to present some of their notable endeavors which have actually contributed to program development and enhancement, policy formulation and capability building of partner organizations’ human resource, and;
  2. Serve as an area for discussion to increase the University constituents’ awareness about issues and concerns affecting Philippine society and how the University attempted to address these.

The University Library through the University Librarian and some of its senior staff maintains collaborative projects with national library organizations such as the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI), the Philippine Association of Academic and Research Libraries (PAARL), and the XIII Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians (CONSAL XIII). The University Librarian is member of the Board of PLAI and member of the Organizing Committee of CONSAL XIII. One staff was Vice-President of PAARL and another, chairs the Documentation Committee of CONSAL XIII. The Union Catalog of Local History Materials on Region I, a collaborative bibliographic project of the PAARL, National Commission for Culture and the Arts-Committee on Library and Information Services (NCCA-CLIS), and the University Library was completed.

On the regional scene, the University Library represents the University in the ASEAN University Network Inter-library Online (AUNILO) Working Committee which aims to promote digital resource sharing, encourage human resource development among AUN member universities.

The Library, in cooperation with the Third World Studies Center (TWSC), University Center for Integrative Studies (UCIDS), Department of Geography and the Office of Sen. Aquilino Pimentel, is building an annotated database of Mindanao sources to facilitate government research on Mindanao. –SMArlante
